SALE OF WORK *

Accepted works should be available for sale. Candela Gallery will retain a 50% sales commission from the sale of artworks, and a 40% commission for artist’s books for the UnBound13! exhibition.

Accept – I understand that the sale of any accepted works will be split 50/50 or 40/60 from retail price between myself with Candela Gallery

PRESENTATION *

Candela reserves the right to not exhibit work that is significantly misrepresented during the submission process. Accepted work should be presentation ready when it arrives at the gallery, meaning it is: • Properly framed and/or mounted (if a photographic print) • Glazed (include glass/plexi) • Ready to hang with appropriate hardware or ready to display if a book or sculptural object • Is authenticated, either by the artist's signature or an included signed certificate of authenticity

DELIVERY

Accepted work should be packaged appropriately and arrive at our gallery no later than June 18, 2024. Accepted work should include return postage. (Note: When possible please include return shipping in one of two ways: a pre-processed FedEx label that includes the requisite bar code, or a UPS shipping document.) Any unsold work will be shipped back in August and September of 2024.

Accept – I understand that any accepted work must be delivered to Candela Gallery in Richmond, Virginia by June 23. Work must be packaged securely and include a return shipping label.

CANDELA COLLECTION

The Candela Collection has existed since the first UnBound! exhibition in 2012 and is designed to provide additional collection and sale opportunities for participating artists. Each summer, Candela Gallery hosts a fundraising gala in tandem with the UnBound! exhibition. With the funds raised from this exhibition, the gallery is able to select pieces from UnBound! to add to the growing Candela Collection. The hope is that one day, the Collection can be donated to an institution which can house and manage it for the purposes of educating students and enthusiasts of the medium. When an artist’s work is acquired using the raised funds, they receive their standard cut (as if they had made a normal sale to a collector). Instead of retaining its standard gallery cut, Candela uses the 40-50% “made” from the sale of the work to buy additional works for the Collection. This would be much like purchasing the work at wholesale, and allows the money raised to have double the buying power (and support even more artists). All participating artists receive a complimentary ticket to attend the fundraising event.

Accept - I understand that Candela Gallery may choose to acquire my work for the growing Candela Collection, which will be loaned and/or donated to another institution for exhibition or permanent collection.
