Candela is excited to share a new installment of work by featured artist, Harrison D. Walker. Walker's second solo exhibition at Candela Gallery showcases new works from his "Portals" project. The artist continues experimenting with a repeated circular form, blending various photographic, printmaking, and drawing techniques. Through this cameraless process, he builds a new portfolio of unique, abstract objects, pushing the boundaries of his artistic exploration.
OPENING: Crystals of Silver | Susan Worsham
Candela Gallery is thrilled to announce a solo exhibition by Richmond, Virginia-based photographer Susan Worsham. Entitled 'Crystals of Silver,' the November exhibition is inspired by the artist's extensive collection of microscopic slides and will showcase rarely-seen black-and-white photographs. Much like her collection of slides, Worsham's work aims to capture and preserve photographs as memorials of remembrance.

Candela Gallery is thrilled to announce a gallery takeover by Charlottesville, Virginia-based artist and community organizer Morgan Ashcom. Titled the Abstract Land & Filing Co. (ALFC), this exhibition will be Ashcom’s second at Candela, continuing to showcase his love for parafiction and collaboration.

OPENING: I am an unruly wind | Daisy Patton
Candela gallery is excited to share the monumental, colorful mixed media works of Massachusetts based artist, Daisy Patton. Patton utilizes scale, color, and presentation to elevate the found photograph to an iconographic status, breathing life and distinction into forgotten faces. The gallery will be featuring 14 pieces in Patton’s exhibition, I am an unruly wind beginning Friday, May 3 and remaining up through Saturday, June 22.

Meet some of our participating artists, grab a slice of Giustino’s pizza or a King of Pops popsicle while you listen to live music by Ellen Cockerham Riccio.
